Read More Here About The Products Used In This Floor Coating Video:
What’s happening in this video… The existing floor coating was failing in two mechanical rooms in a technology based manufacturer of measurement control devices. It was flaking and chipping off the concrete floor.
It was an old epoxy floor badly in need of renovation. There were several areas of flooring failure and just a question of time before the entire area would fail. Clearly, the damage was beyond the need for patch and repair.
The existing floor was well beyond its service life and needed a complete renovation. There were holes in the floor that extended through the entire floor slab from where walls were removed before the job started.
An epoxy floor coating [Garon Guard™] was specified due to the short downtime to get back into production. Most coating systems require a three or four step application process but because of the nano technology in Garon Guard™, it allowed for a two step application thus meeting the facility owner’s time frame of a 48 hour deadline.

I think I need an epoxy coating for my floor but I’m not sure. Please tell me about epoxy industrial floor coating materials and what my next steps should be to coat my floor.
Epoxy industrial floor coatings are found practically everywhere. This is the product of choice for most concrete surface protective coatings used today.
There are recent industrial floor covering developments finding increased use for more specialized environments comprising urethane cement and polyaspartiic industrial floor coating systems but epoxy floor coatings are still the largest volume in use.
An epoxy industrial floor is selected because of superior chemical and abrasion resistance. A recent development of nano epoxy resin has vastly improved upon the abrasion and impact resistance as well as several other properties of traditional epoxy floors.
Epoxy resins are formulated to produce trowel-applied epoxy industrial floor resurfacers, slurries, and many hi-build and thin mil systems.
Each version has its own advantages and specific applications. Typically epoxy floor coatings do not require long out of service times for most applications.
Cure times of the coatings can usually be adjusted to provide slow, medium or fast cure times.
When thinking of epoxy floor coatings and all of the many advantages these workhorses of industry provide it’s important to remember that these same products used in industrial floor applications, can also be color enhanced to provide colorful flooring options.
Decorative chips and aggregates are added to an epoxy flooring formulation to compliment room décor or simply to add some sparkle to an otherwise drab environment. Decorative concrete coatings are on the rise in popularity.
Always consult a manufacturer for information to assist you in the epoxy industrial floor covering selection for your requirements. This will help you specify a material when you invite contractors to bid on your job.
